I will be very annoyed if Carroll is still with us next year picking up £60 or £70k or whatever it is for being injured most of the year and taking the piss.

You could well be right. Thete were rumours that he was fit. Knowing our luck he'll stay injury free too.

I get the feeling that Carroll has been fit enough to feature in the last few games and that the club held him back as there is a transfer lined up. Either out to China who bid for him in February, or back to the barcodes if they are that stupid!

We have to ditch both Carroll and Sakho. They have proved that they are both the most injury prone strikers in our history, and are completely unreliable.
It doesn't matter what it costs, they must go. Any other decision by Bilic and/or Sullivan would just prove that they're not up to the job.

Re: Bilic staying & targeting 4 big signings...apparently!
Seeing as it may be hard to shift either for decent fees, I can imagine the Berks thinking that law of averages says Carroll & or Sakho will stay fit for at least one season and deciding to gamble and go with them again.

Would be foolish, need to replace at least one of them with a striker who is not permanently injured and scores a few goals. Is that too much to ask?
If we don't then we deserve everything we get.

Lertie

Did Cus D'Amato get in the right and spar with Tyson? Does Usain Bolt's coach run the 100m with him?

"Bilic continues in full command" - so.we know exactly who to blame then.

Still think a coach who was young enough to keep up with the players might help

>>> Having decided that Bilic would continue into a third year, to discuss his support team was considered unwise

Struggling to understand what that actually means. That it would be considered rude to actually discuss what the weaknesses might be? Or dishonourable?

Where's the common sense there?

Those backroom staff are well worth keeping, did sterling work last season keeping our players fit and able to play an entire ninety minutes with ease, our defence right as a drum. Excellent news.

Ade Akinfenwa - not many bigger signings than that

Slaven Bilic will retain the same back room staff when he goes into the new season despite the rumbles of discontent heard throughout the last part of the season.

Speculation had persisted throughout the campaign that the board wanted changes to Bilic’s staff as the team look under-prepared and unable to see games out.

Bilic added Julian Dicks to his team of three Nicola Jurcevic, the assistant boss along with coach Edin Terzic and fitness guru Miljenko Rak.

There had been particular discussion over 70 year old Rak but ultimately the subject of replacements was never approached at the end of season review meeting.

Having decided that Bilic would continue into a third year, to discuss his support team was considered unwise and was not raised at any stage in the conversations.

Bilic is known to be fiercely loyal to his chosen lieutenants and would have been almost certain to have refused any suggestion that they should be replaced.

And it means that for now anyway, the Croatian boss is in total command of the ship as we head into the summer and towards and into the 2017-18 season.

he was a proper striker wasn't he?

as for your assertion that he is injured, temperamental and flaky, isn't that summing up carroll too?

now sure what the acerbic bit was about, i said one word you absolute loon of a human being.

Willtell 6:56 Tue May 23
Re: Bilic staying & targeting 4 big signings...apparently!
Trevor I know what you're like with your acerbic comments but Sakho is a flash in the pan that is injured or temperamental and flaky. He could have been a decent striker but he isn't as he hasn't stood the test of time.
